Following the postponement of their fight on March 28 at UFC on ESPN 8, Matt Brown and Miguel Baeza will now do battle at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card on May 16 instead.
The welterweight rebooking was confirmed on Monday by the UFC.
Brown initially signed onto face the undefeated prospect for the chance to compete at home with UFC on ESPN 8 card scheduled to take place in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic forced that show to be canceled.
Now Brown returns to action on May 16 with hopes of building on his current two-fight winning streak with TKO victories over Diego Sanchez and Ben Saunders in consecutive performances.
As for Baeza, the former Dana White Contender Series vet seeks the biggest win of his young career when he faces Brown in Jacksonville, Fla. Baeza is currently 1-0 in the UFC with a TKO win over Hector Aldana in his debut this past October.
Baeza is 8-0 overall with six of those victories coming by way of knockout or TKO.
Brown vs. Baeza joins the May 16 card, which will be headlined by heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris.
